Cook Your Favorite Chicken Recipe Dishes From Famous Restaurants At Home In Your Own KitchenBy Al Castillo

Skewer Grilled Chicken

Yield: 6 Servings

2 lb chicken breasts

1 t garlic, Crushed

1/4 t tumeric

1 t fish sauce

1 t lemon juice

1 t lemongrass, Ground

1/2 t paprika

1/2 t salt

1 t light soy sauce

1 T oil

Take breasts and bone, skin and cut into 1/4″ thick bite size chunks. In a bowl combine chicken with the remaining ingredients, mix, cover and refrigerate for 3-4 hrs. Soak bamboo skewers in water 3-4 hrs and start charcoal fire in grill. Thread chicken pieces onto skewers and BBQ about 3 min, turn and 3 min more. Serve.

Amy’s Grilled Chicken Breasts

Yield: 4 Servings

4 chicken breast halves

1 without skin

2 t dijon mustard

3 1/2 T white wine vinegar

2 t garlic –,Minced

2 t honey

1 1/3 T fresh thyme, or 2 teaspoons

1 — minced, Dried

1/3 t coarse salt

1 1/3 ds red pepper flakes

1 T olive oil

4 sprigs fresh thyme

Place the chicken breasts within a folded piece of plastic wrap; sligtly flatten upper portion of each breast with the broad side of a chef’s knife to promote even grilling. Place breasts in a shallow glass or ceramic dish. Place mustard, vinegar, garlic, honey, thyme, salt and pepper flakes in a small bowl; stir with fork to combine. Add oil a little at a time and whisk to combine marinade. Pour marinade over breasts. Cover with plastic wrap and marinate in refrigerator,turning once or twice in marinade, for at least 2 hours, or up to 4 hours. Remove breasts from marinade, scraping any bits clinging to chicken back into the shallow dish. Transfer all marinade to small saucepan and bring to a boil; reserve. Lightly grease grill rack with cooking spray. Preheat grill. Place breasts on grill. Cook covered with lid, basting frequently with marinade, until tender, approximately 5 to 6 minutes on each side.

Asian Hot-Que Grill Sauce For Chicken

Yield: 1 Servings

1 stephen ceideburg

2 T brown sugar

2 T red wine vinegar

1 c ketchup

1/2 to 1 teaspoon chinese hot

-mustard

1 lg garlic clove,minced

1 T soy sauce

1 to 3 teaspoons asian chile

-paste with garlic

Combine all ingredients except chile paste in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then turn off heat. Stir in chile paste. Makes 1 1/4 cups. To use: Brush on chicken, beef or pork while grilling.

An Unusual Cake Recipe Using Zucchini (Courgette) and Chocolate by Henry Cabel

1 tsp vanilla essence

3 zucchini, approx. six inches in length, shredded (approx. two cups)
half a cup canola oil
1 tsp common salt
1/2 C. buttermilk
3 eggs
four Tbls cocoa powder
0.5 Cup to 1 C. chocolate chips

Method:

Whilst you are preparing the ingredients, preheat oven to 325 .

Lightly grease a 9×13″ cake pan and place to the side.

In a large mixing bowl,mix the brown and white sugar, butter and oil.
Add eggs, the buttermilk and the vanilla and give it a good mixing with a wooden spoon.

With the aid of a sieve, sift the flour, cocoa, baking soda, cinnamon and salt to make one.

Add to the mixture.

Mix in the shredded courgettes and give it a few stirs.

Transfer the whole mix into the 9″ x 13″ tin and toss the choccie chips over the top.

Put the tin into the pre-heated oven and cook for approx 45 mins.

Allow it to cool a little, then turn out on wire rack.

Home cooking can really improve your family life. In these demanding times, having a meal together is usually the only occasion that we get to enjoy some quiet time with our close family. The Australians made their pyramid a bit simpler. It only has three categories that are based on how much the foods in each category should be eaten. In the “eat most” category are things like fruits, vegetables, nuts, beans, and grains. The “eat moderately” group consists of lean meats, eggs, and other low-fat dairy products. In the “eat in small amounts” group, you fid things like oils, low-fat spreads, margarine, sugar, and butter.

A quick search online should give you plenty of results that will point you to their pyramid, where you can learn more.

Both pyramids have their advantages and disadvantages, which is why it can be beneficial to look at both of them. They both provide guidance for eating a healthy diet, there’s no doubt about that. The US pyramid has the advantage of being very specific, while the Aussie pyramid is advantageous because of its simplicity. However, the American pyramid could be seen as too complicated while the Australian pyramid may be seen as too simplistic since it doesn’t really offer much advice about portion sizes. It does give advice about relative portion sizes, but no specifics are given.

So, it really comes down to what kind of guidance you need more. If you need specific information about portions, the US pyramid is the way to go. If you just need a general guide to keep in mind, the Australian pyramid is preferable because it is so simple.

The bottom line is that you can’t go wrong by following either one, so long as you actually follow it. At weight loss camps for kids, they teach children how to plan and eat healthily and the food they serve fits in to both. Back at home, they can be great guides for planning meals.
